University 2020: Role of ICT in the New Socioeconomic Environment

The University of 2020 will face a new socio-economic environment that will have to offer innovative responses. To this end, ICT will be a key player in the future of an institution that has remained with few changes since its inception, in the thirteenth century. But today is facing a new environment in which classic knowledge generation is rethough by the emergence of collaborative models where citizens contribute to the same extent as do the large companies and institutions, where the profile of the young digital natives, is radically different from what we knew before.
