As part of PHotoEspaña 2008, Fundación Telefónica presents the work of the German photographer Thomas Demand, on the balance between what is convincingly real and what is strangely artificial.
Thomas Demand builds full scale models of architectural spaces where important historical or popular events have taken place, to then photograph them. After taking the photographs he destroys the models. In this way his work creates formal intersections between photography, sculpture and architecture. His originality has brought him recognition as one of the most innovative artists of his time.
