
The Press in the New Media Ecosystem. "Stop the Presses!"
During the last half century, there have been major changes affecting the press and news media. The transformations of the seventies and eighties became an electronic medium that was using a physical medium: paper. Later, the technological advances that lightened the digital paradigm is followed. The future of the press is now defined through continuous development of medium and light and handy terminals.
The paper tends to disappear as the daily support because longer competitive with continued publishing and global distribution offered by digital solutions. Printing, associated with an average content of highly perishable, is at the center of the crisis. It has been hit by a disruptive technology that now develops terminal adapted to new consumer practices of information. A revival of the printed paper diaries, with significant media attention, it seems unlikely.
