The Information Society in Spain 2012
For yet another year, the report covers the main technological milestones in Spain, as well as the evolution in the adoption of new technologies by users. As in recent years, 2012 was affected by the financial situation, and was marked by a significant drop in service fees, in an attempt to adjust them to the environment. Another trend that materialized over the year was that, despite the slowdown, the telecommunications industry upheld its investment level in the deployment and roll-out of new technologies and networks. Unlike other sectors, one of the defining features of the telecommunications industry is its ongoing technological evolution, which requires constant infrastructure upgrades.
