TELOS 81

Twenty-five years after its founding (with issue 0 in November 1984 and issue 1 in January 1985), the Telos magazine has risen not only as a classic reference but also now as a central platform of research and discussion in contemporary communication and innovation. Published by Fundación Telefónica, since 2005 Telos has entered a period of renewal and consolidation that has allowed it to request a place on the list of the most prestigious international journals in social sciences, lining its scientific and editorial panel with a large number of the most prominent Spanish and foreign researchers in the field of communication and ICT.

Telos’s 25th anniversary is therefore the chance to call upon analysts and experts who have been working with it for years or have entered its boards in recent stages, in order to analyse the history of our actions and social representations on ICTs. Above all, it is a great opportunity to trace future scenarios based on history, to learn from the past while sketching out the trends that today shape our culture and social communication, our education and economy. This is the reason for our seemingly paradoxical title 'Telos: 25 Years of Future', which refers to the many years behind us during which we have contemplated the stages of the future.
