This book tells us the history of Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs), explaining the principal scientific and technical elements underlying telecommunication services, from primitive telegraphy to the digital world in which we live now where the Internet is the basis of the Information and Knowledge Society.
To study technological evolution is a way to understand ourselves, to discover who we are, how do we socially behave and where do the new forms of doing business or of leisure take us.
