Proniño: A Story about Childhood, Rights and Corporate Commitment

This story is told by a collective subject, a “we” that includes children, adolescents, families, communities, social workers, institutions, volunteers and business estates, with the aim of compiling the experiences and lessons we have shared in the common cause that joined us all: the fight to eradicate child labour in Latin America, which has managed to help more than 450,000 children and adolescents to change their lives and their futures in many ways.

Proniño is the programme for the eradication of child labour run by Fundación Telefónica, which has become one of the biggest projects for children’s rights in the region and is considered the largest social initiative to be generated from within the private sector in Latin America. This is a highly innovative experience that acts as a meeting point between very diverse public and private social agents.
