Neologisms and the Knowledge Society

This volume includes analyses of very different natures from diverse points of view on the transformations undergone by the Spanish language as a result of the evolution of new technologies. It is confirmed that Spanish, as other important languages, is involved in a battle for establishing itself within the phenomenon of globalisation, on one hand tending towards extraterritoriality (loss of dominion and control by the native speaker) and on another to internationalisation (affluence of unnecessary neologisms).
