Multicultural Ethics and the Network Society

In this book, Fundación Telefónica has sought to highlight the challenges that go unnoticed for most inhabitants of cyberspace, and to help identify criteria that will guide multicultural ethics and become the base for the network society in which we are immersed. Although it has been fairly simple to reach an agreement on the standards that sustain the technological development of the Internet, reaching an agreement on the ethical implications of the many decisions regulating communicational exchange is a task that is far from resolved. As an environment in which people and social groups from many cultures coexist, with some shared values and others that are different, a great effort is required to recognise others and to build spaces in which this diversity is seen as an element to enrich one and all.
