ICT in Open Government: Transparency, Participation and Collaboration
The use of the Internet and new technologies has profoundly changed the way people communicate and interact in all areas, including Government and Public Administration. Open Government, as a concept based on the principles of transparency, participation and collaboration, with ICT as its enabler, can help improve public services and restore the citizens' confidence in the political class and in public officials.
In the report entitled 'ICT in Open Government: Transparency, Participation and Collaboration' the concept is approached by exploring its possibilities in the public and private sector and paying special attention to the technologies available for introducing a transparent and participative government, as well as the social and financial benefits derived from it. The ultimate objective is to define a possible roadmap for an Open Government in Spain.
