A catalogue of the exhibition entitled 'Gerhard Richter. Painted Photographs', with texts by Siri Hustvedt, Markus Heinzelmann, Uwe M.Schneede, and Botto Strauss.
The display, which is organised by Fundación Telefónica as part of PhotoEspaña 2009, gathers over 300 photographs taken on his travels or in his home. For different reasons, such as being badly focused or duplicated, these pieces were not included in the artist’s album and were later painted, turning them into true works of art in themselves.
