
Child Labour and the Right to Education in Mexico
The present study on child labor and its connection with the exercise of the right to education in Mexico is part of a process carried out in several countries in Latin America with the support of ILO-IPEC and Proniño Program of Telefónica Foundation. Its overall objective is to contribute to the prevention and eradication of child labor through policies promoting the education sector.
The Mexico study is the starting point for analyzing the policies, guidelines, guidance documents and technical-pedagogical and other social policy initiatives and poverty reduction and its impact on the prevention and eradication of child labor in the country.
At the same time, the study establishes the effects and relationships that have child labor in education in order to provide recommendations and guidelines for the inclusion of the objective of prevention and eradication of child labor in the education sector policy. Similarly, the document provides an analysis of the dynamics affecting indigenous children and adolescents and migration.
