Augmented Reality: a New Lens to See the World

This is the second case report for the "The Information Society in Spain" project, which addresses the issue of Augmented Reality. The concept of Augmented Reality (AR) encompasses all those technologies that allow overlapping virtually generated bookmarks, tags or information over real-world images in real time. An environment where information and virtual objects fuse with real objects is thereby created, providing such an experience for users that they might end up thinking that it is part of their daily reality, even forgetting about the technology that supports it. Augmented Reality is thus a technology that helps to enrich our perception of reality with a new lens, thanks to which the information from the real world is supplemented with that from the digital world.
